What is Black Mamba a cross of?
There are two answers in print, and neither comes from a named breeder:
| Claim | Where it appears | Parents behind it |
|---|---|---|
| Granddaddy Purple x Black Domina | Leafly, marked “thought to be”, breeder unknown | A purple California indica and a Northern Lights-family indica |
| Blue Bubblejuice x Domina | AllBud | AllBud says this brings in Blueberry and Northern Lights genetics |
The Supplier gives no lineage for the lot we sell, so our product page follows Leafly’s version. Both versions point the same way: a heavy indica built on purple fruit and Northern Lights-style hash lines. The two sources disagree on which plants were crossed, not on what kind of strain came out.
The Leafly parents, as Leafly describes them:
| Parent | Reported by Leafly | Our reading of the link |
|---|---|---|
| Granddaddy Purple | Popularized in 2003 by Ken Estes; Mendo Purps, Skunk and Afghani, though some claim Big Bud x Purple Urkle; myrcene, pinene and caryophyllene lead | The grape and berry nose, and the purple color |
| Black Domina | Also called Dom; Northern Lights, Ortega, Hash Plant and Afghani; myrcene leads | Weight, spice and the hash side |
That alternate Granddaddy Purple pedigree links Black Mamba to Purple Urkle, another grape-forward purple indica with its own file here.
What THC % is Black Mamba reported at?
| Source | Figure | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Leafly | THC 19%, CBG 1% | Leafly’s headline figures for the strain |
| AllBud | THC 20% | AllBud’s single listed figure |
The reported range is narrow, about 19% to 20%. Both numbers summarize other people’s samples. Neither one is a measurement of a Batch we sell. Our Black Mamba Batch has no lab values on file yet, and the COA is sent on request.
On a hemp COA the large number is THCA, not THC. Labs compute total THC as delta-9 THC + (THCA x 0.877). A flower at 20% total THC with almost no delta-9 would read about 22.8% THCA (20 / 0.877).
What terpenes and effects are reported for Black Mamba?
Leafly’s page contradicts itself here. Its write-up says the dominant terpene is myrcene. Its terpene panel, which Leafly says is sourced from products tested in Leafly Certified labs, puts limonene first:
| Terpene | Usual note | Rank in Leafly’s lab data |
|---|---|---|
| Limonene | Citrus peel | First |
| Pinene | Pine, fresh resin | Second |
| beta-Caryophyllene | Pepper, warm spice | Third |
| Myrcene | Earthy, musky | Fourth |
Both Leafly parents lead with myrcene, so the write-up may describe the family rather than the tested samples. Leafly does not say which is more recent. Either way, only the terpene section of a Batch COA describes the jar you actually buy.
Effects, as reviewers report them: Leafly’s top-ranked reviewer tags for Black Mamba are sleepy, relaxed and hungry, then happy and euphoric. AllBud lists euphoria, happy, hungry and relaxing. These are user reports collected by databases. They do not predict how any one person will feel, and nothing here is medical information or advice.
Flavor: Leafly’s top-ranked flavor tags are plum, grape and violet, with berry and earthy in the wider list. AllBud describes a skunky smell with grape and sweet berry, and tags berry, fruity, pine, sweet and woody. The pine fits the pinene in Leafly’s panel. The grape fits the Granddaddy Purple side.

What changes for Black Mamba THCA flower on December 11, 2026?
As of October 14, 2026, federal law defines hemp by delta-9 THC: 0.3% or less on a dry-weight basis (7 U.S.C. 1639o). High-THCA Black Mamba can be sold as hemp on that basis, but only where state law allows it.
Section 781 of P.L. 119-37, approved November 12, 2025, rewrites the definition. Hemp becomes plant material with a total THC concentration, “including tetrahydrocannabinolic acid”, of 0.3% or less on a dry-weight basis. Sec. 2019 of H.R. 6500 holds that change back for naturally occurring cannabinoids until December 11, 2026. From that date, Black Mamba flower in the reported 19-20% range is roughly 63 to 67 times over the line and stops being hemp nationwide. Not legal advice.

Asked at the desk
What is Black Mamba a cross of?
Leafly says it is thought to be Granddaddy Purple x Black Domina and that the original breeder is unknown. AllBud lists a different cross, Blue Bubblejuice x Domina. The Supplier gives no lineage for the lot we sell, so our product page follows Leafly's version.
Is Black Mamba indica or sativa?
Indica-leaning in both databases. Leafly files it as an indica, and AllBud as an indica-dominant hybrid at 70% indica and 30% sativa.
What THC % is Black Mamba reported at?
Leafly lists THC at 19% and AllBud at 20%, so the published range is about 19% to 20%. Those are database figures, not a number for any Batch we sell. Our Black Mamba Batch has no lab values on file yet, and the COA is sent on request.
What terpenes and effects are reported for Black Mamba?
Leafly's terpene data, from products tested in Leafly Certified labs, puts limonene first, then pinene and caryophyllene, although Leafly's own write-up names myrcene. Leafly's top-ranked reviewer tags are sleepy, relaxed and hungry, with plum, grape and violet flavors. These are reports, not promises, and not medical information.
Is Black Mamba on the THCA Universe menu?
Yes. As of October 14, 2026, indoor Black Mamba is live at $580 for a Half Pound and $1,050 for a Pound, with free shipping. You send an Order Request online, we call to confirm it, and nothing is paid online.
What changes for Black Mamba THCA flower on December 11, 2026?
From that date, federal law counts THCA in total THC. Flower over 0.3% total THC on a dry-weight basis is no longer hemp, so high-THCA Black Mamba leaves the hemp lane nationwide. Not legal advice.
