What is Gello a cross of?
Gello is Gelato 45 crossed with Flo. Leafly and AllBud agree on both parents. Neither one names the breeder, and we found no breeder statement we could check, so this file leaves the credit blank. The name reads like the two parents run together, but no source says so.
The two parents come from very different eras:
| Parent | Reported by Leafly | Our reading of the link |
|---|---|---|
| Gelato 45 | Girl Scout Cookies x Sherbet; caryophyllene, limonene and humulene lead; THC 19% | The dessert side: sweet, with a pepper base |
| Flo | Also called DJ Short Flo; Purple Thai x Afghani, bred by Dutch Passion and later carried on by DJ Short; listed as a 1996 Cannabis Cup winner; limonene leads | Citrus lift and the purple streak in the plant |
Gelato 45 is one of the numbered cuts from the Gelato line, the same family as Gelato 41. Flo is a 1990s strain that most dessert-shelf buyers have never seen in a jar. Gello puts a modern Gelato cut on top of that older line, and the terpene file shows both: Gelato’s caryophyllene in front, Flo’s limonene right behind it.
If you want to taste one side of the family on its own, greenhouse Gelato 45 is on the menu too.
What THC % is Gello reported at?
The two named databases disagree:
| Source | Figure | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Leafly | THC 24% | Leafly’s headline figure for the strain |
| AllBud | THC 17-19%, CBD 0-1% | A published average range |
Taken together, the reported range is about 17% to 24%. Leafly’s own write-up calls Gello a mellow strain and suggests it for people with a low tolerance, while its headline number is the higher of the two. A database figure is a summary of other people’s samples. It is not a measurement of a Batch we sell.
Our Gello Batch has no lab values on file yet, and the COA is sent on request. On a hemp COA the large number is THCA, not THC. Labs compute total THC as delta-9 THC + (THCA x 0.877). A flower at 24% total THC with almost no delta-9 would read about 27.4% THCA (24 / 0.877).
What terpenes and effects are reported for Gello?
Leafly’s terpene data, in order:
| Terpene | Usual note | In Gello |
|---|---|---|
| beta-Caryophyllene | Pepper, warm spice | The lead; the Gelato 45 side |
| Limonene | Citrus peel | Second; the lemon in the flavor tags |
| Myrcene | Earthy, musky | Third; the soft, herbal middle |
Effects, as reviewers report them: Leafly’s top-ranked reviewer tags for Gello are relaxed, sleepy and hungry, then euphoric and happy. AllBud lists aroused, creative, euphoria, relaxing and uplifting. These are user reports collected by databases. They do not predict how any one person will feel, and nothing here is medical information or advice.
Flavor reports split. Leafly’s top-ranked flavor tags are ammonia, flowery and lemon, with berry and citrus next. AllBud describes sweet berry with a sour citrus exhale and earthy herbs in the aroma. Both lists put citrus and fruit in the middle of the profile. The ammonia tag comes from only a handful of Leafly votes, but it is the one that tells you the jar is louder than “fruity” suggests.
What does Gello look like?
The two databases describe it differently. Leafly’s growers report small, dense buds with dark green and purple foliage that can look almost black. AllBud describes bright neon-green nugs with deep purple undertones, thin orange hairs and a thick coat of frosty trichomes.
Different phenotypes and grows can look this different under one name. Our product page shows a photo of the lot we actually have, so check that rather than either description.

What changes for Gello THCA flower on December 11, 2026?
As of October 14, 2026, federal law defines hemp by delta-9 THC: 0.3% or less on a dry-weight basis (7 U.S.C. 1639o). High-THCA Gello can be sold as hemp on that basis, but only where state law allows it.
Section 781 of P.L. 119-37, approved November 12, 2025, rewrites the definition. Hemp becomes plant material with a total THC concentration, “including tetrahydrocannabinolic acid”, of 0.3% or less on a dry-weight basis. Sec. 2019 of H.R. 6500 holds that change back for naturally occurring cannabinoids until December 11, 2026. From that date, Gello flower in the reported 17-24% range is roughly 57 to 80 times over the line and stops being hemp nationwide. Not legal advice.

Asked at the desk
What is Gello a cross of?
Gelato 45 x Flo, according to both Leafly and AllBud. Neither database names the breeder who made the cross, so we leave that blank.
Is Gello indica or sativa?
Both databases file it as a hybrid. AllBud calls it an even 50/50 split. Leafly's reviewers lean it toward the calm side, with relaxed and sleepy as the most common tags.
What THC % is Gello reported at?
Leafly lists THC at 24% and AllBud lists 17% to 19%, so the published range is about 17% to 24%. Those are database figures, not a number for any Batch we sell. Our Gello Batch has no lab values on file yet, and the COA is sent on request.
What terpenes and effects are reported for Gello?
Leafly's data puts caryophyllene first, then limonene and myrcene. Leafly's top-ranked reviewer tags are relaxed, sleepy and hungry for effects, and ammonia, flowery and lemon for flavor. AllBud lists berry, citrus and sweet. These are reports, not promises, and not medical information.
Is Gello on the THCA Universe menu?
Yes. As of October 14, 2026, indoor Gello is live at $590 for a Half Pound and $1,075 for a Pound, with free shipping. You send an Order Request online, we call to confirm it, and nothing is paid online.
What changes for Gello THCA flower on December 11, 2026?
From that date, federal law counts THCA in total THC. Flower over 0.3% total THC on a dry-weight basis is no longer hemp, so high-THCA Gello leaves the hemp lane nationwide. Not legal advice.
