Field note N°155 · Strain review

Gushers strain

In one line

Gushers is a hybrid of Gelato 41 x Triangle Kush, commonly credited to Cookies. Leafly files it as TK41 and lists the breeder as unknown. Its published profile leads with caryophyllene, then limonene and linalool, with a fruit-and-gas nose. A COA proves chemistry, not the strain name on the bag.

Gushers is Gelato 41 crossed with Triangle Kush, a hybrid commonly credited to Cookies. Leafly files it under the name TK41, lists the breeder as unknown, and publishes a profile led by beta-caryophyllene, then limonene and linalool. Reviewers describe stone fruit and honey over a gassy Kush base.

What is Gushers a cross of?

Gelato 41 x Triangle Kush. The two parents do separate jobs:

  • Gelato 41 is a numbered Gelato phenotype (Gelato is Sunset Sherbet x Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies). It brings the dessert sweetness and dense, Cookies-style buds.
  • Triangle Kush is a Florida Kush line. It brings the gas, the earth and most of the weight.

That pairing explains the reports: fruit on top, fuel underneath. It is also why Gushers shares a parent with Jealousy, which uses Gelato 41 on the other side of its cross.

How it compares with other dessert-shelf files

File Parents Lead terpene (published) Third terpene Nose in one line
Gushers Gelato 41 x Triangle Kush Caryophyllene Linalool Stone fruit, honey, gas
Runtz Zkittlez x Gelato Caryophyllene Myrcene Sweet tropical fruit
Lemon Cherry Gelato Sunset Sherbet x GSC x undisclosed (reported) Caryophyllene Linalool Lime, berry, sour citrus
Jealousy Sherbert Bx1 x Gelato 41 Caryophyllene Myrcene Earthy pepper, plum

All four are caryophyllene-led and Gelato-adjacent. What separates Gushers on paper is the Kush parent, which shows up as gas rather than more sugar.

How buyers describe it

Leafly reviewers most often tag Gushers (TK41) as tingly, relaxed and euphoric. AllBud’s summary describes relaxation without sedation, starting as a tingle at the back of the head, but its reviews are mixed: some report a racier, sativa-like ride, paranoia or nausea. Leafly’s most reported negatives: anxious, dizzy, dry mouth. These are reports, not tests, and Gelato 41 x Triangle Kush seed lines vary. None of this is medical advice.

Grow and phenotype notes

  • Leafly says growers of all skill levels run it indoors, outdoors and in greenhouses.
  • AllBud describes elongated olive-green buds with thin amber pistils and a coat of small amber-tinted trichomes.
  • Kush-leaning cuts run gassier and heavier; Gelato-leaning cuts show more fruit. The name does not say which one is in the jar.

Gushers as THCA flower: what to check on the COA

  1. Batch code matches the bag.
  2. Delta-9 THC at or below 0.3% dry weight, the federal hemp test until December 11, 2026.
  3. Total THC: delta-9 + (THCA x 0.877). Example: 24.0% THCA with 0.15% delta-9 gives 21.20% total THC.
  4. Caryophyllene first, limonene and linalool behind it, fits the published file.
  5. Lab accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, with a sample ID you can look up.

Log 2026-10-03: the name is not on the test

As of October 3, 2026, no federal or state rule we know of checks whether flower sold as “Gushers” is Gelato 41 x Triangle Kush. Strain names are trade names. The lab tests what is in the sample: cannabinoids, terpenes, and screens for pesticides, heavy metals and microbes. The strain field on the COA is copied from the client’s submission form.

What a COA can prove What it cannot prove
Delta-9 THC and THCA, so total THC That the plant is the cut it is sold as
The terpene ratios in that sample Who bred it
That the sample passed contaminant screens That the bag came from the same Batch, unless the codes match

The legal test does not care about the name either. Under Section 781 of P.L. 119-37, effective for THCA on December 11, 2026 under H.R. 6500, hemp means 0.3% total THC including THCA, dry weight (7 U.S.C. 1639o as amended). A 24% THCA Batch of anything is about 70 times over that line.

Asked at the desk

What is Gushers a cross of?

Gelato 41 x Triangle Kush. Leafly and AllBud both list that pair. Leafly files the strain under the name TK41.

Who bred Gushers?

It is commonly credited to Cookies. Leafly's page says it was bred by unknown breeders, and we could not reach a breeder page that confirms it, so the credit is reported rather than verified.

Why is Gushers listed as TK41?

Leafly says it does not use the commercial name for legal reasons. TK41 stands for the two parents, Triangle Kush and Gelato 41.

Does a COA prove a Batch is really Gushers?

No. The sample name on a COA is whatever the client submitted. The lab measures cannabinoids, terpenes and contaminants; it does not identify the cultivar.
