In one line
Sources disagree on Pink Runtz. Leafly calls it a phenotype of Runtz (Zkittlez x Gelato); AllBud gives that or a Rainbow Sherbet x Pink Panties cross. Unlike Runtz and White Runtz, its published profile leads with limonene, and reviewers describe candy-sweet fruit, cherry and berry. Read the Batch COA, not the family name.
In this note

Pink Runtz has two published pedigrees. Leafly describes it as a phenotype of Runtz (Zkittlez x Gelato), while AllBud gives either that or a cross of Rainbow Sherbet x Pink Panties. What is consistent across sources is the chemistry: a limonene-led profile and a candy-sweet cherry and berry nose that sets it apart from Runtz and White Runtz.
The two lineages, side by side
| Version A: Runtz phenotype | Version B: separate cross | |
|---|---|---|
| Parents | Zkittlez x Gelato (a selection from Runtz) | Rainbow Sherbet x Pink Panties |
| Who says so | Leafly; also listed by AllBud | AllBud, as the alternative |
| Shares parents with Runtz? | Yes, the same two | No |
| What it would explain | The Runtz brand name, the Gelato bud structure | The name “Pink”, the sherbet-sweet fruit |
| Breeder sheet found | None | None |
This file does not pick one. The name is used by more than one seller, and it is possible that both versions are on the market under the same label. If a seller states a pedigree, ask where it comes from.
How Pink Runtz differs from Runtz and White Runtz
| Field | Pink Runtz | Runtz | White Runtz |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lead terpene (published) | Limonene | Caryophyllene | Caryophyllene |
| Second | Caryophyllene | Limonene | Limonene |
| Third | Linalool | Myrcene | Linalool |
| Reported nose | Candy-sweet fruit, cherry, berry | Tree fruit, apricot | Peach, vanilla, floral |
| Reported effect tags (Leafly) | Giggly, tingly, talkative | See the Runtz file | Tingly, relaxed, euphoric |
| Lineage | Disputed | Zkittlez x Gelato | Zkittlez x Gelato |
Pink Runtz is the only one of the three with limonene on top. On a COA, that is the easiest way to tell whether a Batch fits the published file.
What does Pink Runtz smell and taste like?
Leafly describes the aroma as sweet and fruity, like candy. AllBud’s aroma tags are cherry, fruity, sour and sweet, and its flavor tags add berry and candy. Limonene supplies the bright citrus-sour edge; linalool in third place adds a soft floral layer under the fruit. The specific berry or cherry note comes from minor compounds a standard panel does not list.
How buyers describe it
Leafly reviewers most often tag Pink Runtz as giggly, tingly and talkative, and the page summarizes it as mostly energizing. AllBud’s tags add happy, hungry, relaxing and uplifting. The negatives reported most often are headache, feeling paranoid and feeling anxious. These are reports, not tests. None of this is medical advice.
Grow and phenotype notes
- Flowering: 8 to 9 weeks (Leafly).
- Difficulty: hard, with a medium yield; short to medium plants (Leafly).
- Structure: Leafly describes extremely dense buds in dark green to purple hues, with orange hairs.
- The name is not a color guarantee. “Pink” refers to the cut’s name. Purple coloring depends heavily on cultivar and on night temperatures late in flower.
Pink Runtz as THCA flower: what to check on the COA
- Batch code on the COA matches the bag.
- Delta-9 THC at or below 0.3% dry weight, the federal hemp test until December 11, 2026.
- Total THC: delta-9 + (THCA x 0.877). Example: 25.0% THCA with 0.21% delta-9 gives 22.14% total THC.
- Limonene first in the terpene panel fits the published file. Caryophyllene first with myrcene third reads more like Runtz.
- Lab: ISO/IEC 17025 accredited, with a sample ID you can verify.

- White Runtz: same family, frostier, linalool third.

Log 2026-10-03: what the label can and cannot prove
The name “Pink Runtz” carries a disputed pedigree, so the paperwork has to do the work. As of October 3, 2026, federal hemp is still tested by delta-9 THC at 0.3% dry weight (7 U.S.C. 1639o). On December 11, 2026, Section 781 of P.L. 119-37 switches flower to total THC including THCA, on the date set by H.R. 6500.
| Claim on the bag | What checks it | What the COA shows |
|---|---|---|
| “Pink Runtz” | Nothing on a COA | The strain field is copied from the client’s form |
| “Runtz phenotype” or “Rainbow Sherbet x Pink Panties” | Nothing on a COA | Labs do not identify cultivars |
| Fits the published file | Terpene panel | Limonene first, caryophyllene and linalool behind |
| Hemp until December 10, 2026 | Potency panel | Delta-9 at or under 0.3% dry weight |
| Hemp from December 11, 2026 | Potency panel | Total THC at or under 0.3%: with zero delta-9, about 0.34% THCA |
A 25% THCA Pink Runtz Batch computes to about 21.9% total THC from THCA alone, roughly 73 times the new line. From December 11 it is marijuana under federal law; in adult-use states it stays on licensed dispensary shelves under state cannabis rules, which do not use the hemp test.

Asked at the desk
What is Pink Runtz a cross of?
Sources disagree. Leafly describes it as a phenotype of Runtz, which is Zkittlez x Gelato. AllBud gives two versions, that phenotype or a cross of Rainbow Sherbet x Pink Panties. No breeder sheet we found settles it.
How is Pink Runtz different from Runtz?
Its published profile leads with limonene instead of caryophyllene, and reviewers report candy, cherry and berry notes. Runtz is caryophyllene-led with tree-fruit notes. If the Rainbow Sherbet x Pink Panties version is right, the two do not share parents at all.
Is Pink Runtz the same as White Runtz?
No. White Runtz is listed as Zkittlez x Gelato with linalool third and heavy white frost. Pink Runtz is limonene-led and its lineage is disputed.
Can a COA confirm a Batch is really Pink Runtz?
No. Labs test cannabinoids, terpenes and contaminants, and the strain name on the COA is whatever the client submitted. A limonene-first terpene panel fits the published profile, but it does not prove the cut.
