In one line
White Runtz shares Runtz's listed parents, Zkittlez x Gelato, but it is its own selection. Published profiles swap Runtz's myrcene for linalool behind caryophyllene and limonene, reviewers report peach, vanilla and floral notes, and the buds carry a heavy white trichome coat. Database THC figures for it range from 18% to the mid-20s.
In this note

White Runtz differs from Runtz in three ways you can check: a heavier white trichome coat, a terpene profile with linalool where Runtz has myrcene, and reported peach, vanilla and floral notes instead of Runtz’s tree fruit. Both are listed as Zkittlez x Gelato, but White Runtz is its own selection and needs its own COA.

Is White Runtz just Runtz?
No. Same listed parents, different plant. Two seeds from the same cross can grow into plants with very different chemistry, and breeders keep the ones they like as named cuts. White Runtz is one of those selections sold under the Runtz brand family. Sellers often call it a phenotype of Runtz; Leafly and AllBud list it only as Zkittlez x Gelato. We found no breeder sheet that settles it, so this file keeps both readings open.
The practical point does not depend on which is right. A Runtz COA tells you nothing about a White Runtz Batch.
What does the linalool swap change?
| Terpene | Typical note | What it does to the jar |
|---|---|---|
| Linalool | Floral, lavender | Softens the fruit, pushes toward vanilla and flowers |
| Myrcene (Runtz) | Musk, ripe fruit | Deepens the fruit into something heavier |
That one position on the panel is a large part of why reviewers describe White Runtz as sweet and floral and Runtz as tropical. AllBud describes the flavor as “sweet and sour fruity candy with a light touch of citrus”, which fits limonene in second place.
How buyers describe it
Leafly reviewers most often report tingly, relaxed and euphoric. AllBud’s reviewers describe a calm body effect that starts as a tingle in the spine and neck, and several call it an evening strain that does not knock them out. Leafly’s most reported negatives: anxious, dry eyes, headache. These are reports from licensed-market cuts, not tests, and a THCA Batch can land differently. None of this is medical advice.
Grow and phenotype notes
- Flowering: 8 to 9 weeks (Leafly).
- Height: short to medium; Leafly rates it hard to grow, with a medium yield.
- The frost is the selection trait. Cuts sold as White Runtz without the heavy white coat are worth questioning, but frost alone does not confirm the cut.
White Runtz as THCA flower: what to check on the COA
- Batch code on the COA matches the bag.
- Delta-9 THC at or below 0.3% dry weight, the federal hemp test until December 11, 2026.
- Total THC: delta-9 + (THCA x 0.877). Example: 26.0% THCA with 0.18% delta-9 gives 22.98% total THC.
- Linalool present in the top terpenes. A panel led by myrcene reads more like Runtz than White Runtz.
- Lab: ISO/IEC 17025 accredited, with a sample ID you can verify.

Log 2026-10-03: database THC numbers versus the legal test
As of October 3, 2026, the federal hemp test is delta-9 THC at 0.3% dry weight (7 U.S.C. 1639o). On December 11, 2026, Section 781 of P.L. 119-37 switches it to total THC including THCA, on the date set by H.R. 6500.
Strain databases print one THC figure, usually an average of licensed-market lab results. If you read the published White Runtz figures as THCA and run them through the 0.877 conversion:
| Figure | Source | Total THC from THCA alone | Times the 0.3% line |
|---|---|---|---|
| 18% | Leafly listing | 15.79% | about 53 |
| 24% | Top of AllBud’s average | 21.05% | about 70 |
| 32% | Top of AllBud’s user-reported range | 28.06% | about 94 |
Every row fails the total-THC test by a wide margin. None of these numbers describes a specific Batch. The only number that matters for a purchase is on that Batch’s COA. In adult-use states, licensed dispensaries keep selling White Runtz under state cannabis law, which does not use the hemp test.

Asked at the desk
What is the difference between White Runtz and Runtz?
Both are listed as Zkittlez x Gelato. White Runtz is a separate selection with heavier white frost, a linalool-leaning terpene profile instead of Runtz's myrcene, and reported peach, vanilla and floral notes rather than tree fruit.
Is White Runtz a phenotype of Runtz?
Sellers often call it a Runtz phenotype. Leafly and AllBud simply list it as Zkittlez x Gelato, the same pair as Runtz. No public breeder sheet settles whether it came from the original Runtz seed run or a separate one.
How strong is White Runtz?
Leafly lists 18% THC and AllBud lists a 23 to 24% average. Those are database averages from licensed-market samples. Only the COA for a specific Batch tells you its number.
Why are White Runtz buds so white?
The color comes from a dense coat of trichomes, the resin glands that hold THCA and terpenes. Heavy frost looks potent, but the COA, not the color, gives the THCA figure.
